Where does (sexual) education begin and where does it end? When should a child learn about menstruation and sexual organs? Many questions arise regarding these topics.

We think the sooner the better, the more natural the more sustainable! When topics such as menstruation, menarche (first bleeding), menstrual products, cycles and sexual education are discussed without shame or taboo, children perceive this as something very natural. It can be fun to talk to children about menstruation if they see the menstruating parent being open about the topic.

That's why we're committed to educating everyone (because even adults never stop learning or haven't learned many things in the first place!) and we think these topics can be fun - for young and old. Menstruation is the most natural thing in the world - then everyone will question why blue liquid for menstrual blood is/was used by large corporations when it is simply blood. Period!

We have fun breaking taboos and also addressing all these topics openly and provocatively! Because they are empowering when we adopt them and decide for ourselves how we want to talk about our bodies and our periods!

We believe that it is not about giving one group better opportunities, giving one gender a home advantage and thus leaving others out, or even calling for one group to replace the other.

We care about equality and inclusion of all people, genders and identities. Not all women* menstruate, and not all who menstruate are women*. And the same goes for people with vulvas and vaginas. But they have one thing in common: they menstruate. And BOLDred wants to celebrate and empower this!

For us at BOLDred, empowerment means self-determination and breaking patriarchal structures in order to finally raise our voices and stand up for our rights.

For us, empowerment means talking openly and transparently about the topic of menstruation, body positivity and sexual education and not feeling any shame.

For us, empowerment means finally seeing our menstruation as the most natural thing in the world, not having to be ashamed of it and not having to hide it. Menstruation is part of our life. Whether we want to live cyclically, we experience pain and symptoms, we want to exercise or we simply want to freely ask someone for a menstrual product because we are unprepared - all of this is empowerment.

And that is what BOLDred sets itself as its goal. To give you a feeling of empowerment.

Be it the choice of products, how we talk about these topics, what certain words mean or what all the body parts of the vulva and vagina are called.

At BOLDred, we attach great importance to sustainability and take this seriously. Sustainable menstruation can only mean that all products are produced sustainably, are ethical and fair and also meet all criteria in order to keep the CO2 footprint of each menstruation as low as possible or even reduce it.

That's why we also focus on local/national rather than global. Although this means not including all the products that are available on the market for menstruation into our product range, it does mean being able to offer high-quality products that we really stand behind, have tried ourselves, and agree with the manufacturers value.
